Change in the Weather by Mark McEwen

Mark McEwen's Journey

The hard-working and talented Mark McEwen has achieved a success most people only dream about and became one of America’s most trusted newsmen. He became synonymous with morning news during his time at CBS.

For over 15 years at CBS, Mark served in a variety of high profile positions, including anchor of CBS This Morning for three years. But he is perhaps best known as the weatherman and entertainment reporter for The Early Show.

From The Morning Program to CBS This Morning to The Early Show, Mark was a mainstay on the CBS early news since first joining the network in 1987. He anchored with a unique flair and snagged a Who's Who of big interviews.

Mark has interviewed many prominent news makers, including five Presidents, Bill Clinton, George H.W.Bush, Gerald Ford, Jimmy Carter and Richard Nixon. He's interviewed Academy Award winners Steven Spielberg, Sidney Poitier, Julia Roberts, Denzel Washington, Tom Hanks, Whoopi Goldberg, Robert DeNiro and Halle Berry. He's also talked to Tom Cruise, Will Smith, John Travolta among others.

Mark did Leonardo DiCaprio's first network interview. He's talked to music superstars Stevie Wonder, Paul McCartney, Garth Brooks, Barbra Streisand and Tony Bennett and let's not forget Bill Cosby. The list goes on and on...

After being on the network he moved to Orlando to anchor the local news and spend more time with his family. Mark was at the top of his game and enjoying life when he suffered a stroke.

While traveling to his home state of Maryland, he experienced symptoms that led him to the hospital. Two days after that, he collapsed while flying and suffered a stroke that almost took his life.

Recovering from that stroke has brought Mark to a remarkable expedition which he has chronicled in his book, "After the Stroke".

Mark's new blog, Mark McEwen's World, picks up where the journey in his book left off.
